    Optimal BP is <120/80. Anything above 150 is too high and anything above 125 for high risk groups (those with kidney issues and diabetes etc) is also too high.

    boarder line for the high/low in the normal range
    high: 140/90, above this and you need treatment
    low: 90/60, below this and you’ll be feeling weak and tired all the time
    normal: 120/80

    Tess is correct. In order for you to obtain a valid reading you should be seated, at rest and not emotionally upset. Note that your blood pressure will vary throughout the day. It is lowest in the morning when you wake up and in the evening just before bedtime. During the day normal activity will cause it to be changing almost constantly. With moderate to heavy activity it can reach as high as 160/90. After you stop activity it will return to near your resting normal.

    Hypotension: Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) <90 mmHg and/or Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) <60 mmHg.
    Normal: SBP <120 mmHg and DBP < 80 mmHg.
    Prehypertension: SBP 120-139 mmHg or DBP 80-89 mmHg.
    High Blood pressure:
    Stage 1–SBP 140-159 mmHg or DBP 90-99 mmHg.
    Stage 2–SBP 160-179 mmHg or DBP 100-109 mmHg.
    Stage 3–SBP 180 or greater or DBP 110 or greater.
    Medical emergency: SBP >200 mmHg or DBP > 120 mmHg.
